ABOUT ME
I recently moved to Seoul to teach and work on some films. This is my second time in Korea but first time in Seoul and would like to use this site to meet people and connect with the CS community.
I finished my MFA this year in Documentary Filmmaking, and am always working on something and interested in helping on other projects, so if this is your thing, contact me! I also have a deep passion for music, and am currently working on a documentary on experimental music/noise.
I try to expect the unexpected. Ultimately I aim to be able to see and document the world as it is without giving in to the chaos, and to see into hidden places and times.
PHILOSOPHY
I was raised in a Christian household, and I've recently returned to spirituality, though it's so incredibly different from what it was when I was younger.
I think there are a lot of potential ways to access the divine, though none of them are without a great deal of struggle and doubt. I tend to question any faith that hasn't first gone through skepticism, or any political belief that is more interested in alliances than people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'd like to host a bit and be hosted whenever I have some time off this year and want to travel this part of the world.
I'd also really like to book some film screenings at a bar or small theatre around Seoul sometime, and hope to find some people who might be interested in helping (or just attending) on CS.
I am trying to get verified via a donation, but my credit card isn't working on the site for some reason. I do want to support this site as much as possible, because I think it's an incredible resource!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've done a little bit of hosting here in South Korea, and have been hosted in the Near East when I travelled there, which was incredible.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have taken like, probably a billion breaths in my lifetime.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to learn languages wherever I go! Sometimes it's really difficult to learn anything when you're in a new country only for a short time, but the effort is important.
Likewise I can teach whatever I know: i'd be happy to teach my limited knowledge of film/cameras/editing to whoever wants it.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I don't host often, but when I do I try to share time and show people around, rather than just be a place to crash.
I feel like this should go without saying, but don't write with curt questions like "Hey man, can I crash at your house tonight?". Say something about yourself and why you're here and why you want to stay with me.
