ABOUT ME

Defining myself by what I do, I'm a longboard graphic designer, an academic, an administrative professional, a sister, a best friend, a modification guinea pig..

I love food, sleep, art, being quiet, being loud, books, my sketchbook, exploring. I overthink things and I can be awkward, but if I push through it I'm an interesting individual, I think.

PHILOSOPHY

The same way I live through relationships. It'll end someday, most likely, but that doesn't prevent me from waking up and making the most of it that I can.

Then again staying in your PJs all day and baking 3AM cookies just 'cause you feel like it is pretty great too, and one of the better parts about being an adult. Don't work yourself into a knot trying to overachieve.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm trying to travel, and in that respect I want to contribute by teaching, helping the house run smoothly being an open listener and so on. The same any of us want, I'd imagine.

When it's possible, I'd like to set up my house around the basis of an available, open place- a community, and not just a crash pad (though sometimes circumstances require that, I know).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was the first person in Western Canada to have a magnet implanted. Not only was the procedure amazing, the day to day experience continues to astound me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I hand-paint longboards! I can give someone a rundown of the methods of application and design I use for my boards. I can also demonstrate or explain the basics of riding.

I'm a pretty okay cook! I have a fairly extensive knowledge of cooking basics, leaning to the American/French side regarding technique, but I'm also the kind of person who will give up and apply my own methods to get the job done. But it generally turns out okay.

I am a history/anthropology major. I can't really teach, but I have some stuff to say on the subject.

I am a torchbearer in my community, and can impart the basics of fire safety and how to make your own torches.

..I'm basically full of stupid bits of knowledge nobody will ever need, but am more than happy to talk about them.
