PHILOSOPHY

I live to learn and grow. Each of us has so much potential. We can accomplish anything we really put our mind to. Now, if only I knew what to put my mind too...

It is foolish being content to watch people act out our dreams on TV instead of going outside and living our dreams ourselves.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I travel and crash with fellow surfers once in a while. At home, I am always willing and waiting to have people stay and to show them around.

My experience has been great! I stayed with several people while in Italy, Austria, and Germany. I've had a couple of people surf with me in Utah, as well.

兴趣

I can never get enough of reading. I enjoy science fiction, fiction, fantasy, science, biographies, and history.

Backpacking: I was a backpacking guide for the Boy Scouts of America for two summers. I especially enjoy getting away from the city and noise.

Camping: When time doesn't permit a true trip, I often throw my gear in my car and drive until I find some beautiful and secluded spot for the night. During the summer, even at home, I often sleep outside in the backyard just to be outside.

Photography: I love to take pictures. I can spend hours wandering anywhere with a camera in hand.

Hiking: I get out and into the mountains every chance I can. The view from a mountain peak can not be beat!

Fishing: I prefer fly fishing, but also do spin, and ice fishing.

Climbing: Rock climbing is awesome exercise drawing on muscle strength, endurance, balance, and mental discipline. I'm afraid of heights, hence the mental discipline!

Biking: A great way to travel. (mountain biking is a blast).

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

One warm but windy morning, long before even the first hints of dawn, I hiked with a friend to the top of a plateau and then watched the sun rise. It was incredibly magical.

In Costa Rica, while surfing (or attempting to surf to be accurate) a large wave lifted a shark out of the depths right next to me. I waved hello, then got out of there!

I can teach writing, photography, videography, cooking, how to avoid being eaten by angry bears. What else are you interested in? Let me know. I would love to take you around Utah, my job permitting. Museums, hikes, camping, fishing, wherever.
