About Me

I'm Traci! I live with my partner Michael here in the enchanting small town of La Azulita in the Andean state of Merida, Venezuela. I've lived in Venezuela since 2012, and Michael's been here since 2006. We're here to stay, weathering the Venezuelan economy through hard work and self-sufficient farming. We produce most of the vegetables that we consume here on our property. We also raise our own meat and have dairy cows. We produce and sell locally small batches of yogurt. We'd like to open our home and farm to visitors who would like to get a taste of the real Venezuela!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are on couchsurfing because we want to provide an option for curious travellers willing to take the road less traveled. A visit to Venezuela is an incredibly authentic, one-of-a-kind experience that you will never forget. By making ourselves available to international travelers we can also provide all kinds of relevant and up to date travel advice for navigating your way around Venezuela and its seemingly overwhelming complications. We can help facilitate the most unique trip you'll take in South America!

Music, Movies, and Books

In our home, we have an entire library of books, music, and movies. We have no TV, but find lots of ways to entertain ourselves! We listen to music from all around the world, watch movies in every language and read books of every genre.

Teach, Learn, Share

By visiting our farm you can experience life on a sustainable, organic, permaculture-based farm in the cloud forest of Venezuela. You will definitely enjoy the rural Andean Venezuelan culture that defines our small village and town!
