About Me

CURRENT MISSION

All People Embrace One Another As Best Friends

ABOUT ME

I'm 52 years old, live in Chicago and am from the Detroit area. I've lived in Japan while working for Hyatt Hotels and had the opportunity to return in 2012. I've traveled to all 50 United States and have been to England; Ireland; South Wales; Brussels, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria, Mexico; Canada; Hong Kong; Macau, China;South Africa and the Kingdoms of Swaziland and Lesotho. Most recently I traveled to Peru, hiked through many ruins, including Rachi, Sillustani and Machu Picchu; stayed on the Amazon in a stilted bungalow and swam with pink dolphins.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm interested in a world where all people embrace one another as best friends. Where we take care of one another and feel taken care of. I'm interested in meeting others whom are like minded.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to travel, dine and to meet friends, old and new. I love learning about people and places and I enjoy outdoor activities, such as tree climbing, skiing, hiking, running and horseback riding. I'm adventurous and spontaneous. I love to participate in and observe music, dance and theater. I love to play hard, work hard and enjoy life! I enjoy connecting with and making a difference for others.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Royal Oak, MI; Milwaukee, WI; Denver, CO. and Rochester, NY. I've stayed on actual couches and in rooms that are stunningly appointed. My hosts have been gracious and delightful. The experiences have been engaging, fun and often times, educational.

Music, Movies, and Books

World Music, Swing, Jazz, Pop, Soft Rock. I enjoy reading, although don't find myself doing so as much as I'd like on a personal level. I love movies and enjoy watching them with friends. I enjoy both mainstream movies as well as independent and foreign films.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Made the documentary film "HIV/AIDS, What's Happening In Zululand," subtitled in Isi Zulu Language and had it put into 40 health clinics throughout South Africa. This film was made with very good friends.
Have been to the top of the Empire State Building, the Eiffel Tower and have climbed Pyramids in Mexico. I have drunk wine at the top of a Tuscan Village with good friends, swum in the Indian Ocean and walked among Penguins. Have been 50 yards from Kodiak Bears in the wild, ice-skated on Christmas morning in Munich and climbed the mountain, with my 75 year old mother, Uncles and Cousin, in my Grandmother's home village in Dahn, Germany.
I lived in Japan for 8 months, learned some of the language and cultural traits and stayed in a 300 Year old Thatch roof home in Chelmsford, England. I've lived an amazing life and am excited to continue living it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to travel and to take big things on. Rather than saying or even thinking something is impossible, I often come from the context of, "This is what's so, now how do we make this happen?". - and go from there. I am a 'yes', before I consider a 'no'.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Barbados, Belgium, China, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
