About Me

I am a very proud Pittsburgher and if you are visiting my city I would love to show you around. I love discovering new facets of my city and finding the food and art that has developed because of the constant change, but also the dedication to tradition that people have in Pittsburgh.

Currently, I work in sales, but I love to write and cook. Hospitality is something that is very important to me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This summer I'm traveling through Europe, beginning in Italy with a work stay. I want to meet people who love their cities and towns just as much as I do. I'm looking for places to stay in my travels, but places with people excited to share who they are and what their culture has made of them.

Interests

I'm a pretty big fan of making pie. I love to bake and cook, but especially pie. I've thought about taking it into the small business market.

I also really like to run. A couple of years ago after having not exercised for a long time I decided to bite the bullet and sign up for a half marathon. Now I've done like 3 or 4 half marathons and one full marathon. I got pretty addicted.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all sorts of music. Right now I really enjoy classic R&B and soul, but I'm also a really big fan of the folk revival of the 1960s. I love Bob Dylan and have seen him in concert a few times.

As far as books I read a little bit of everything. One of my favorite books of all time is the Autobiography of Malcolm X.

My favorite movies are anything by the Coen Bros or slap stick movies from the 1930s and 1940s like Bringing Up Baby.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Feels a bit braggy, but I guess... ran a marathon.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm very interested in learning how to cook specific dishes from different places I travel and different people I meet. I want to develop a better ability to learn different languages and mostly I want to be pushed outside my comfort zone of being a bit of a homebody sometimes.

I'm very interested in seeing the intersection of defined cultures in the different communities around the world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I think I can share a complete uninhibited enthusiasm for meeting people from all different facets of life. I am very open to any pieces of culture or life that a host or hostee is vested in showing me.
