About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To share my favorite city with travelers.
ABOUT ME
My husband and I always lived south of I-10 our entire lives. From the swamps of Louisiana to the beaches of Southern California. We settled down in the majestic and wonderful city of New Orleans over 4 years ago. Our first year we lived downtown in the French Quarter, so we know our way around there, but we have lived in Mid-City for the last 3 years and LOVE it. There is plenty to do, eat, see, hear, and enjoy.
PHILOSOPHY
There is nothing better than opening up to a new culture or way of life, and the best way to do that is to party with the locals. :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We host as much as possible, and have made so many great friends this way! Every day I get several requests, so please have patience with me as I try to sort out our schedules of when we can host. We try not to book people too far in advance because things usually end up changing, but that is what the 'Maybe' selection is for, right? :) I try to respond to everyone, whether it is yes or no, sometimes it is just hard to keep up the pace with all the people who travel to New Orleans! haha (**We have a rule that Kyle and I will not host unless BOTH of us are home**)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
While we have only 'surfed' a few times in New Zealand, we love to host frequently in New Orleans.
We've traveled a lot so we are familiar with the easy-going attitude of people who just want to see new places and people. Add southern hospitality to that and a dash of party-animal and I know that our house is perfect to host for people who are out and about seeing the world.
Interests
We love going out to local bars, listening to music, riding bikes down to the French Quarter, playing disc-golf in City Park, and all sorts of ways to enjoy the city.
In the past we have been quite adventurous ourselves. We both skydive, scuba dive, snowboard, primitive camp, and are down for basically anything that sounds fun. We've been to several countries and enjoy learning about different cultures.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We've just returned from spending most of December 2013 in New Zealand! It was truly spectacular. We drove around both islands in a campervan and got to see as much as we could.
We hiked the Inca Trail in November 2012 for 4 days up to Machu Picchu and the took it easy on the beach in Lima. No showers, camped in tents, and became (literally) over-night friends with a dozen other travelers from around the world.
