About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To eat good food, meet cool people, and see the world, of course!
ABOUT ME
I graduated as an Electrical Engineering student at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. The son of two geologists, I used to accompany my parents when they would travel during their field trips, sabbaticals and conferences. I guess because of that, the travel bug bit me, and boy did it bite hard. Being stuck in cornfields of Urbana only made my travel obsession worse, and I'm always up to go gallivanting somewhere.
PHILOSOPHY
Eat, Drink and be Merry.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have slept on many different couches before, but they've all belonged to friends, or friends of friends. I've yet to sleep on a total stranger's couch. Hopefully CS will help cure this deprivation :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: My favourite is definitely City Hunter ( a Jackie Chan film).. I must've watched it at least 20 times. The Departed, A Fish Called Wanda, The Matrix and LOTR trilogies, V for Vendetta, The Last King of Scotland, The Prestige, Casino Royale, Snatch and Ocean's Eleven are also some other very, very good movies that I've watched.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Cinta and Gubra are also other notable mentions.
TV Shows: Top Gear, anything by Anthony Bourdain, 24, House, Orange Days(オレンジデイズ),Pride (プライド), Great Teacher Onizuka and Full House (the Korean drama) and Sci-fi, ie Battlestar Galactica. I am also a fan of animes like Naruto, Bleach and Initial D.
Books: I have a huge collection of mangas, including Dragonball, Doraemon, GTO, Kindaichi, and many more, all of which have been translated into Malay. As for real books, I really enjoyed the Harry Potter series (can't wait for #7), The DaVinci Code, The Undercover Economist, Kite Runner, Ender's Game and Common Sense (Thomas Paine).
I like sarcasm in my literature, as in the writings of Jeremy Clarkson, Anthony Bourdain etc etc. Travelogues are my new obsession.
Reza Aslan also really struck it out of the ballpark with No god but God.
Music: No genre in particular. Interests range from Japanese to Heavy Metal to Classical. Lately I've been listening to a lot of local (Malaysian) music, and I'm very proud of how the Malaysian music scene has blossomed :)
