COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was Eurailing in Spain and my train dropped me off in some little town in the middle of the night. I was too cheap to spend $$ for a room to use for 6 hours, so I looked hard at sleeping in those little ATM kiosk things...well, someone saw me checking it out and she already knew what I was up to. In our limited communication, she offered me a couch (actually, her floor) and I was very grateful.

I used this awesome website during my roadtrip across the U.S. in December 2005. What great, beautiful people out there!

Lightning storms at 5:30am in Bryce Canyon National Park. And in the evening, a full night sky of amazing stars and the heavens above.

Lightning storms atop El Tigre, the highest pyramid in the Mayan world. I camped up top with a Texan, the jungle spread far and wide below us. Check out El Mirador in Guatemala when you have the chance!
