About Me

My name is Julian but some people call me Jules. I grew up in Colombia, and decided to go to university in Canada. I’ve also briefly lived in Germany as I had the opportunity to do exchanges in Bonn and Konstanz during my undergrad. After university, I wanted to become a developer so I went to a web dev bootcamp and I built this website: www.julescode.com. I now work as a digital product manager/product owner.

I’m a very easy going person who really appreciates meaningful interactions.

I’m happy to share my home with those who at some point are willing to open their home to others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been on CouchSurfing for over a decade now - time flies. It started when I was living in Colombia with my family, my sister had gone abroad to do a masters and there was an extra room in the house. We decided that it would be a good idea to host foreigners, and show them that - despite Colombia's bad reputation - most people in Colombia are very friendly and welcoming. That was what brought me to CouchSurfing. What made me stay, was the community! I have hosted amazing people, and I have also stayed with great individuals. I have hosted many people in Toronto, and I look forward to hosting many more. I will also be using CouchSurfing more for my travels - in fact, I will be using it very soon. Next destination: London!

Interests

I am a very active person, so sports is something that I enjoy.
I really like my job, so anything related to product management & coding is something that interests me.
I want to improve my german, so I want to speak it more.
Learning about other cultures is fascinating, so I enjoy listening, observing and asking.
Food is something that I love, so either cooking it or going to a restaurant is a thumbs up for me.
