About Me
CURRENT MISSION
New Years Eve in New York City!
ABOUT ME
I am an accountant working and living in Manhattan. It's been almost a year since arriving and I will be here at least one more year before moving elsewhere. There is a long bucket list of NYC must-do and want-to-see places and things to accomplish before moving elsewhere. If anyone wants to join me, they are welcome. Currently not quite setup for hosting yet, but definitely willing to explore and show people around town.
For amusement I enjoy attending concerts (both Popular and local acts), Renaissance festivals, and the occasional party or get-together. I'm always up for checking out a new restaurant, an art exhibit, seeing the strange and unique and going anywhere I may see and learn something new. Friends describe me as down-to-earth and very easy to get along with; I really enjoy meeting new people. One more tidbit: I drink socially, but do not smoke or do drugs.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I just moved into a new place and it is still in the process of being furnished. Until then I will be happy to meet up with travelers to show them around or explore the city. I also like attending CS events.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
This is the first time with any experience off of this site, but there have been some great past experiences. At 19 I owned a house in Florida. It started as three college students looking to save some money and live under the sun. By the time I left there was seven of us (four boarders). We provided food and a place to stay, they helped with cleaning and maintenance when needed. It worked out wonderfully. A year later I had one of the most enjoyable weekends ever when a friend and I traveled to Milwaukee, WI for a three-day Techno fest. The music was at a club, the after-parties at a house, and a few friends provided refuge for the attendees. We slept on the floor and the hosts made everyone breakfast (we all pitched in money and help). The last time was in Florida when I was doing seasonal work at Walt Disney World. A friend provided a couch and showed me around for the month and a half I was staying there. I happily paid him $50 per week, helped with the cooking and cleaning. It was fun and worked out very well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Recently I tried sailing for the first time. Boats are second-nature, being from Michigan and all. Ended up in a bit of a Gilligan's Island type of ride (see reference from fellow couch-surfer).
To assist in conquering a long-time fear I went to an alligator rescue/sanctuary and did very well. They are incredibly dynamic creatures, yet there will be no gator-wrestling matches in my future.
The Swiss Alps were just breathtaking. I can't wait to travel through Europe again (sans teenagers this time around) and explore them further.
