About Me
You can learn an awful lot about me by visiting my website!
http://www.travelingafro.com (hasn’t seen much love in a while)
CURRENT MISSION
Currently in Italy 🇮🇹. After walking the via francigena from Siena to Rome I’ll be traveling around by bus and train.
I have successfully paddled the entire Mississippi River from its source which is Lake Itasca in Minnesota all the way to the Gulf of Mexico in a 14' fiberglass canoe! Then I travelled around the USA 🇺🇸 for a few months. After that was three months in Jamaica 🇯🇲! Then spent almost a month in Dominican Republic 🇩🇴! Went back to the states for a road trip followed by a trip to England 🇬🇧. Caught a plane to China 🇨🇳 for about a month. Then spent some time in France 🇫🇷.
ABOUT ME
I am an easy going guy. I pretty much have three objectives.
See beautiful things, meet beautiful people, and have an amazing adventure.
I've got a 110 liter backpack, stories and a smile! I'm not great at saying no, and I'm not real picky about details. I'm a barefooted, bandana wearing traveler. I'm a pretty happy fella!
PHILOSOPHY
My personal philosophy is to simply try and be a good person. I try to look at things from as many perspectives as I can imagine. I'd rather work to live and truly live my life, than live to work and die with a list of thing I wish I had done.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm here because I can't always camp, and honestly because not all camp sights have showers. Also because the kind of amazing people you find on Couchsurfing, who open their doors to strangers, are exactly the kind of people I'm looking to meet!
Interests
I'm interested in people's philosophy. I'm interested in sunshine and sandy beaches. I'm interested in true freedom, as well as love, language, art, sports, caves, mountains, culture, music, people and more! This world is full of things worth enjoying and I want to try all of the things!

Music, Movies, and Books
I haven't watched movies in ages. Books aren't very practical in my backpack. I know one song all the way through and it is "What I Got" by Sublime. I don't have an iPod or music on my phone, so I mostly just live to the sound of life.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I've done is jumped head first into this awesome adventure. I sold my car, left my job, moved out of my apartment, bought a canoe, paddled the entire length of the Mississippi River, and started living!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have experience in construction and am willing to help you out with any projects. Let me do your dishes, or maybe you can find me something heavy to lift for you. I'm becoming a better cook as I learn more about food from different places, so I would love to cook for you! Let me tell you my stories and let me listen to yours.
