ABOUT ME

I'm currently living in Toronto, Ontario back after 3 years teaching in Istanbul! I’m a travel blogger, photographer, freelance writer and podcaster.

I'm 29 years old and my whole journey began in Toronto in 1989. I am a really easy going guy who is up for anything and down for whatever. I make a point of trying everything once, as I think that curiosity can only be quenched by experience. I live to breathe and smell sights, otherwise I would do all my traveling on google. I have a serious quench for knowledge, but am just (if not more) excited to have a great time and have been known to enjoy a good beer and a great conversation.

I am a sports fanatic, a music enthusiast, and try to live everyday with a sense of purpose. I'm also a notorious wanderer, published writer, lover of food, and can easily be seduced by a quality novel.

I lived with my amazing girlfriend, Briana, in Istanbul, Turkey. I've lived previously in both South Korea and Norway, and feel it's a beautiful way to discover the world and appreciate different cultures.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that the word "will" is far more important than the word "should". Experience is knowledge, and I would much rather regret something I did than something I didn't do.

I've surfed a fair bit in the past, but now I'm looking to set up my place to be hosting. In the meantime, , and I'm looking to attend meetings and all that good stuf.

Interests

I have a lot of interests, which is likely why I'm so fascinated by the world. I love people and conversing. Reading has always been an important part of my life as well. Music, Movies, and Books

Reading is one of my foremost passions in life, and that's largely to do with the fact that I love learning. I was an English Literature major during university, but I probably read even more now. It's difficult to say who my favourite authors are as my list of loved authors is fairly exhaustive, but I appreciate the writing of Oscar Wilde, Jonathan Swift, George Orwell, and Kurt Vonnegut especially. --> goodreads.com/travelingmitch

I also happen to love a wide variety of music. I'd have to say that I respect all genres of music, so my taste in music is fairly eclectic.

Movies are one of the best ways to spend an afternoon, so I happen to have quite a few favourites as well. To name a few, I love Gladiator, Memento, the Batman Trilogy, and pretty much anything with the epic voice of Morgan Freeman.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Everything from the Great Wall to the Guinness Brewery. I've been lucky to experience so much on this wonderful earth.

Teach, Learn, Share

It's difficult to describe what I can teach. I can say that I'm passionate about literature, writing, and generally all things to do with that sector of the world. I was an English major in University, so perhaps I can share some of that knowledge. I suppose you'll have to get to know me to see what it is that I can "teach."

However, I think it's more important to outline here that I'm very open to learning. Learning about anything at all. I find that I'm fascinated by almost everything, which makes me keen to chat and learn about almost anything. It seems to me that a passion for learning new things and having an open mind are just about the most important traits you can have.
