ABOUT ME

I am a multi-layered person. It takes time to get to know me, but once you do, you will not be disappointed. I am outgoing most of the time, but for an outgoing person, I am also quite shy. I love to laugh. I love to hear other people´s stories and I love to share mine. I have traveled quite a bit. This is my 2nd time on an around the world trip and I am amazed at the constant barrage of experiences that are coming my way.
I have a sarcastic sense of humor and I love it when people tell corny jokes. I would describe myself as very open-minded, and I am realizing that means that I still have a lot to learn.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just had my 1st couchsurfing experience in Brazil and I met some incredible people who helped corroborate what I already knew about the world, and that is this: despite all the nutty and nonsensical things that are going on all over the world, there are so many beautiful and kind people who do such amazing things for others; so all we can do is have hope and believe in positive change to come.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed with this incredible guy, Daniel, in Rio de Janerio, and not only did he open his home to me (and my travel buddy), but he opened his whole social circle to us. I never would have enjoyed this massive city so much if it were not for him. Not only was he so welcoming, but all of his friends were so amazing, I really did not want to leave. This is what couchsurfing is all about!!!

Movies: Amelie, Life is Beautiful, Napoleon Dynamite, LA Story, Big Lebowski (or anything by the Cohen Brothers), anything by Judd Apatow

Music: I love indie rock, especially Postal Service, Mates of State, Two Gallants, The Decemberists, etc. But I am also open to many other kinds, especially if it makes me think or if it moves me (or makes me move).

Books: To Kill a Mockingbird, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

* Went to the southern most city in the world
* Walked on a glacier in Argentina, even though I was scared the whole time
* Went to a Flamengo soccer game in Brazil
* Went around the world on a ship
* Taught amazing, beautiful, and unbelievably intelligent kids in New York and San Francisco
