About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see. To meet. To experience and understand. To satisfy this wanderlust.

ABOUT ME

I am starting from closest to home: South East Asia. My aim is to complete all nations by 2011. (21/09/11 Update: DONE!)
I will then expand and try to travel the rest of Asia. When I've gained much influence and wealth, I will experience Europe, Africa and America. My deepest passion is to get to know the ancient civilizations of this world.

PHILOSOPHY

Cherish your experiences, good or bad, these are life lessons.
Be interested in people and learn from them.
Although it sounds cliche, but i do believe in "Live.Love.Laugh"

Interests

Travel. Food. Culture. Nature. Photography. Ruins. Old Architecture.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies.
I like mindfuck movies, A Beautiful Mind, The Inception, Source Code.
I like foreign films coz you see the culture of the country.
I like fantasy/sci-fi as well.

Music. It varies and changes a lot. Now I'm into vocal house (electronica with lyrics). Lounge music is good for reading a book while outdoors.

Books. Before I travel to a certain country, I always make it a point to read at least three fiction books that's set in that country. I like really descriptive narrations because that's my way of "mind traveling". Something like the Alchemist.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Tiger Leaping Gorge in China is just amazing with the view of the gorge with the many waterfalls when you wake up in the morning! Dali is also wonderful, all the people there are very friendly. Angkor complex in Cambodia! Definitely awesmazing! Closer to home: Banaue Rice Terraces. Grasslands of Mongolia under the most amazing night sky I've seen while waiting for the red moonrise. BATANES (living in a heritage rock and grass hut)- this is like paradise for me.. zero crime, most picturesque sights, friendliest people who'd greet you everywhere you go. Biking around Bagan and Inle Lake in Myanmar. Ko Phi Phi - crazy party but still a beautiful island. Luang Prabang and walking around in a very spiritual old capital. Sagada on top of a cliff walking towards a cemetery at dusk felt surreal at that time (like I was in a Resident Evil game). Kota Kinabalu, climbing down from the peak, looking down and seeing our guides in a bonfire looking like giants because they were in a bonsai forest (that was fun!). Sohoton - underwater cave where above water it's all dark with a thin streak of light, but underwater it's the complete opposite a big light and dark all over (i'd paint that if i'm an artist).. Moalboal, swimming with the sardines that would cover the sunlight and open when the bubbles go up from my regulator. Boracay sunset paraw sailing with iphone music and drinks.. Marawi, in bed at 1AM then suddenly gunshots literally outside my room - pretty normal thing for the locals.. 2nd time to Sohoton, boatman picks me up from my resort in the evening and brought me to a small cove full of glow in the dark planktons under a bright moon and surrounded by karst islands... AMAZING! Border crossing to Mongolia from China, seeing snowy mountains and grasslands and vast deserts, living in a Ger and making our own fire for heat. So many things. I'll keep adding stuff here as I go along.
