Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love to host and connect people to the magical city of Denver. I work from home in the same area as the couch so I tend to enjoy people that are exploring during the day or want to cowork with me. Although this is a 1-bedroom apartment I consider it a community home. When I am here I typically host couchsurfers, when I'm traveling I host people from Airbnb. I also never charge more than what I need on Airbnb, meaning, by design, I don't make a profit. If for any reason I do make a profit I gift that money back to the house on something that will benefit future guests, like a nice warm blanket for winter or an impromptu dinner for couchsurfers in the area. 80% of the house contents are recycled, repurposed or gifts from prior guests. Also, all the products, like the soaps, are made in Colorado by friends. Because of this I ask each guest to take a look around and gift something they think the house needs or will make the next guests stay that much nicer, it's like a pay-it-foward chain. Gifts have been as sweet as a note, to a candle, to helping with dinner, to even a Costco membership!
Interests
Is it too obvious to say traveling here? That and walking, rock climbing, cooking, surprising family and friends, connecting people to each other, attempting to speak Spanish and spreading random acts of kindness.
