About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Just enjoying my life and passions.

ABOUT ME
I love travel, history, nature, family and friends.

I have a degree in history and work as a tour guide at a brewery and work at a legal recreational cannabis grow:]

I moved from Philadelphia to Northern California in 2016, then moved up to Portland in 2018. I mostly grew up on the East Coast but have some west coast roots and family.

I love the outdoors and traveling and have been to every National Park in CA and made it to Eagle Scout, I especially love cooking outside. I'm also a gardener and was very involved in the urban gardening community in Philly.

I have worked as a tour guide and at museums and historic sites for over 15 years and love the ability to travel and do other things in the off season while helping others get the most out of their travels. I love to explore places and show people my favorite spots. I consider myself a professional tourist since I get to hangout with travelers and visit all types of museums and historic sites. Back in Philly I was also active in the Association of Philadelphia Tour guides and was on it's board.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can't host as much as I'd like but always try to answer and give some helpful tidbits.
It has always pretty common to have people crash out on my futon or floor after concerts and random events. Likewise, I have crashed on floors and couches all over the world. I think this website is a great way to help our kind.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had all types of folks end up on my futon or floor very happy and grateful. and I've crashed at all types of random new friend's places as well. I think this type of hospitality leads to greater human understanding and good karma.
I joined CS years ago when my housemate at the time had surfers but never really got active myself until I lived in Northern California a few years and had some interesting guests and have made some great friends but can't regularly host now.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't get to the cinema often but like older movies and docs.
I listen to a lot of stuff, I love free format radio. You can find me at jazz, jam band, punk, funk, and electronic shows.

I'll read a lot of different books, they tend to find me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Festival of the Steel Phalice, Japan

Teach, Learn, Share

I was a professional tour guide of Philly for 10 years so I certainly know how to point people around and I know way too much about American History. I'm also a pretty skilled gardener and recently built a compost system at friend's house I stayed at.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Local sightseeing advice, travel experience, gardening tidbits, American history insight, furit and veggies from my garden:)

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, France, Germany, Iceland, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico
