About Me

Hola Amigos,

Back in my condo in Palm Springs after a my show in Hollywood got canceled after the strike. I would enjoy hosting and meeting some new people especially dancers.

-I prefer to host for ONE or TWO or three nights at a time, so please don’t ask me about 5, 7 or 10 days at a time. I live in a small spaces so more than one person is really not an ideal situation and uncomfortable for everyone involved.
I prefer that people who contact me go thru the processes and get verified and have a reference and a decent profile. If you can’t be bothered to do the bare minimum then why would I be bothered to host you? Just sayin.

CURRENT MISSION

Living life filled with more light, less things & overall BALANCE

avoiding ubiquitous urbanity at all costs!

56 years young, slightly left of center, yogini, salsa, and hustle dancing Chica; world traveler who requires motion in order to quiet and focus her mind. Well read wanderer & thinker- upper. Single, never married, no children and living a minimalist lifestyle in 180 sq. feet. RV, then a 650 sq ft MCM condo in Palm Springs,

In 2016, I took a sabbatical from my job in broadcast television after 13 years of running on a hamster wheel to nowhere. I moved into my 26 ft RV and moved to Portlandia where I spent an amazing 20 months doing yoga and yoga training, teaching, and enjoying the shit out of where I lived for the first time in my life. Since then I have lived in my RV in a variety of places all over the US. And now I have a vacation property in Palm Springs. After living in Palm Springs for a year, I had the opportunity to move to Mexico and reverse commute to the US for my job. I lived one year in San Miguel de Allende and two years in Guadaljara. I have traveled to 127 countries so far and will retire abroad.
People would describe me as a cheeky, unpretentious chic with type A, anal rententive tendencies softened by moments of pure zen. Easily voted most approachable & likely to engage with anyone by her two cats and her local Barista.

PHILOSOPHY

"Small rooms or dwellings discipline the mind; large one weaken it"
-Leonardo da Vinci

"Words are of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind"
-Rudyard Kipling

"We need to make books cool again. If you go home with somebody, and they don't have books, don't fuck them"
- John Waters

"My darling girl, when are you going to understand normalcy is not necessarily a virtue, rather it denotes a lack of courage"
-movie Practical Magic

"All the art of living lies in a fine line mingling of letting go and holding on"
-Henry Ellis

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Just being me

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE: I had one couch surfer in my RV when I was living in Portland.
My couch surfer gave me a nice review and I enjoyed meeting her immensely. I have had a 1/2 dozen couch surfers in my condo in Palm Springs. All but one was a very very good experience from my perspective.

ABOUT MY SPACE: Light and plant filled Bungalow in Burbank in walkable & safe tree lined neighborhood
One bedroom
One bathroom
Full kitchen
washer & dryer
Combo living and dining area
2 Ac units and two ceiling fans
Lovey front porch for morning coffee
Back yard garden with couch seating and fire pit, plants, and an outdoor grill.

My condo in PSP
architecturally significant mid century modern Albert Frey Building. He also designed amongst many other things, the aerial tramway station in Palm Springs. Originally built as a hotel, it was renovated into condos in 2003. There are 21 units here. I have completely renovated my unit and it is really a lovely little space. I have poured terrazzo flooring, a 1950’s O’Keefe & Merritt Stove, and a lovely SMEG refrigerator as well as an eclectic mix of med century modern period pieces and reproductions.
My condo is a junior one bedroom and it is somewhat private (an architectural pony wall) separates the sleeping area from the eating and living area but complete privacy is not possible. I have a nice sized kitchen and bathroom and I also have an outdoor shower. I have a lovely garden with jasmine, bougainvillea, dwarf fruit trees, and cactus and lots of comfy outdoor places to hang out, tan read, or chill. There is also a pool and hot tub in my community as well as laundry facilities. I am in Old Las Palmas which is next to the Uptown Design District on Palm Canyon Drive (the main road going thru Palm Springs). I am in walking distance of coffee shops, many restaurants, bars, and shopping. When is it triple digit heat in the Summer most people do not walk. There are two bike rental places in Palm Springs where you can rent cruisers. There is a Scooter rental place but it is at the other end of town in the ACE Hotel.
