About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have better, deeper, more complete travel experiences and share the same with other open minded folks... as well now to show my children some of the world and allow them to grow up with some world view and knowing the goodness of people.

If you are family traveling to the area, contact us. Even if we can't host you, which we may be able to, but if we are available, we will love to meet up with you!!

ABOUT ME

I would say that I am a fairly adventurous sort. I certainly love to travel and experience the world, the amazing people in it and I think that is why I found CS to begin with. So many of my friends and family think I'm crazy, but there are so many of us open hearted people out there and I find you here. Travel is amazing. I feel so free when I'm out exploring! I am constantly learning when I am on the road. I feel inspired and electrified. A natural extension for me is my photography. I want to capture those fleeting moments and savor them long after they have passed. Yet I love the new moments as well. Oh, and all the cool people I meet along the way. :) Pedja is now living with me and he can share his experiences with you directly or if/when he makes his own profile. Briefly though, he is also freelancing. He is a cinematographer and generally interesting person. Anything more, he can tell you. Update: we now have two kids and they are wonderful and amazing. Now, we really love to meet families around the world! My kiddos have LOVED when they meet families from other places. We homeschool and believe that living is learning and meeting amazing people is a great addition to the educational journey we are on.

PHILOSOPHY

Todays experiences are tomorrows memories; live what you want to remember!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have met many people along the way in my travels. This allows me to share in the cultural exchange it's meant for and I also am always talking about it others, so I do my share of passing along the info. I'm also reaching out to my local CSers and plan to get more involved with them. All my friends are all over the world, so not only is it ia great way to make cool friends nearby and far away, but it will be with people I can talk with about travel adventures. Non travelers can get bored with our stories. I think it's a great organization.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Before I learned about CouchSurfing, I was a part of an organization called SERVAS. I did some "couch surfing" thru that. It's a similar type organization. I like it, and it's good for the hesitant folks that want a stronger security level, but it's less spontaneous, as you need to do a lot of prep before your trip. I have now stayed with several CS hosts and have met really interesting people. I have had all good experiences and yet very different experiences at the same time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travel! There are sooooo many amazing places I've been. It's truly a wonderful world we live in. However, the temples in Cambodia were among my favorites... fascinating!! The islands in Greece, breathtaking! Ireland was magical! Costa Rica had the best volcanic mud massage! Belize made me start to like ceviche and lobster. The Redwood forest is my favorite forest. Oh, I'll have to think further about my other favorites. Really... they are many.

Teach, Learn, Share

Oooohhh, this is awesome!! Well, as a photographer I can help with that. We are also now a homeschooling family with two young kids, a boy and a girl, and we would LOVE to connect with families from all over the world. Pen pals, travel & culture exchanges, etc.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love great conversation about many things in life. I am a photographer, so I can share some of my knowledge of photography. I am now a mama, so sharing stories of how families grow up is particularly fascinating to me now, and would be happy to share this back with anyone interested. From experiences I have had in the past, these meetings can build friendships, which is wonderful and what Couchsurfing is meant to be.
