ABOUT ME
I love to travel! I love immersing into the unfamiliar. I found this all around in Southeast Asia. I've also been surprised to find these experiences closer to home. There's no shortage of neighborhoods with cultures and languages other than my own. Recently, I've immersed myself in the unfamiliar as a person challenged with physical disabilities (following a parachute malfunction in 2013).
Each experience is an adventure. They're not all fun but they all build character. This outlook has helped me adapt with and embrace my injuries.
My parachute malfunction resulted in an 80-100ft. fall. Following a 9 week coma, I regained consciousness to find significant impairments from head to toe. A spinal cord injury and a traumatic brain injury has a way of leading you to make new plans.
With that said, I walk with a limp and won't be joining you on a run - at least not this weekend. With this great new device to support my right leg I'm able to do many of the things I enjoy - backpacking, hiking, and paragliding.
I love to travel and explore the world! Adapting after my accident has, in a way, been a fascinating new way to see another world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Taught English in Thailand. I just headed over there with some nice clothes and a tie. I visited a school and they hired me on the spot. When I asked about objectives and lessons plans they simply said "you speak English... Teach them."
Turned out to be the most difficult yet most enjoyable experience of my life.
