À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

Traveling again in Africa, doing a Namibia, ZA, Mozambique, Lesotho, Eswatini, travel tour on a 150 cc motorcycle...As of April 2024, will be in Thailand thru August

Have fun in Life...Life is for living, not sitting in a chair

ABOUT ME

Been on the road for 30 years . Trying to dive and experience the world, so spend a lot of time in far away places, on land and underwater, both fun diving and teaching. If not wet, I'm up in the mountains climbing, hiking, or just hanging out. Enjoy physical activities, long distance swimming, walking, and anything outdoors, but also very professional at doing "nothing. " . Love to cook Thai and usually carry pastes to cook up a curry

I grew up in California, with a few passports due to family background. I don't have Germany citizenship, but have residency in Germany. I am currently living in Sharm El Sheikh , Egypt, where i came to get thru the Covid pandemic and have done 15+ seasons of diving here since '99. Last two years plus has been dives, dives and dives, and a whole lotta fun.

IF there was a world passport, I would be first in line. I am sort of a wandering, nomadic, professional, semi retired, story telling dive bum..... aka: homeless!!! Most of the time, I love it like this.

Age is just a number

PHILOSOPHY

Live life, enjoy your friends, be thankful for the freedoms one can enjoy.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When i slow down in one place, i change the couch symbol over to bring people into my home .. I don't have the ability to host much, but I try to offer up a hosting environment whenever possible.......

PLEASE!!! Read my entire profile so we are not both disillusioned

COUCH SURFING EXPERIENCE

I feel I sort of surfed around the world before CS began from traveler invitees I met along the way, as well as given couches out to those i met and really enjoy the concept of CS.. ..I enjoy traveler's attitudes to having a free spirited, fun life. I love to hitch hike and pick up hitchhikers, feeling that people all around the world are good in general, and karmic optimism will keep me safe... Yes.. it's failed a few times but made for some crazy adventures. I generally don't take hitch hikers as surfers on day 1 of their arrival day as I have been burned quite a few times when they couldn't get a lift.

Centres d'intérêt

Travel, travel, and more travel, combined with my love for adventure and diving. ...Love to dive, be lost in a culture or strange country, and when seeing a new place, i just walk and walk and walk and walk.....

Still high on my journey through Sudan and feel Africa calling ..... But Sudan, what an amazing, hospitable country...and the pyramids..... Wow.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

The 12th Planet, the Grateful Dead, old rock, acoustic guitar.....Reggae... Rafi Jazz......Shawshank Redemption.. Nature documentaries, movies that make me cry for some reason

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Kokoda trail in PNG, 1996......

A wee problem in Iran that lead to 58 days of forced meditation..

Sani Pass in Lesotho,/ZA on a 150 Bajaj motorcycle

The underwater world just blows my mind, and to see untouched virgin reef or be surrounded by hammerhead sharks is a different world. I have had some really crazy adventures whilst on the road that include earthquakes, war zones, and exploding volcanoes!...

I have been blessed with 2 Greenflash sunsets in my life and can only hope for more.....

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

Everybody can learn from anybody......learning something new every day, no matter how small, makes the day worth it...

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

Experiences, stories, laughs. My thoughts and ideas. Good food and coffee! My ability to listen and learn. I generally like to cook for my hosts/guests if possible atleast once.

Basically, I like a slow paced easy life.. just like to sit down and share with other people.... so come for a bit or let me be apart of your world.
