About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Hello, I'm travelling in Europe at the moment. My mission is to meet the people, learn about the cultures, enjoy the food, music, sights, etc. Through couchsurfing, I hope to make lasting friendships and share great times.

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Toronto. I love Toronto as a hometown but I also have an intense passion for
travelling. It started when I was 18 and I taught English for 4.5 months in Thailand which was fantastic. I'm a positive, optimistic guy who looks on the bright side. I love meeting new people and making new friends. Most people would describe me as being someone who is really friendly and easy to talk to. I love exercise and enjoy a variety of sports. When I'm at home, I'm a daily swimmer also. I´m very much into yoga and am triple certified as a yoga instructor. I also have a keen interest in meditation and ayurvedic medicine. I also have a passion for playing guitar and expanding my musical knowledge. I enjoy all types of music (see music section).

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that the world would be a better place if we opened up our doors and hearts to different people/opinions/ways of life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As I am currently travelling I am searching for couches and to meet people. When I return home, I believe that it would be such a fun and enriching experience to be able to host couchsurfers........

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only couchsurfed three times previously. The first time was in Lebanon and the second was in Turkey. That was back in 2007 and both were great experiences. More recently, I spent five nights couchsurfing in Lisboa, Portugal.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love a variety of different types of music including mainstream, rock, pop, hip hop, R and B, Latin, Reggae, Bhangra, Bollywood, Middle Eastern. I enjoy international film and documentaries. I also enjoy reading non-fiction books mostly and in particular, those related to alternative healing and holistic health.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent an entire year travelling through India which was profoundly spiritual and moving. I also went to Nepal and Bangladesh on that trip. I learned a tremendous amount and met some amazing people along the way. I´ve also travelled in the Middle East (Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey), Southeast Asia (Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos), South America (Boliva, Peru, Ecuador, Galapagos Islands, Colombia), and the Caribbean (Cuba, the Bahamas, St. Thomas, St. Martin, Puerto Rico). I have also travelled quite a bit in Canada and the United States.
I've also visited England and Italy. On this current trip, I have been through France, Spain, and Portugal and am excited about continuing my travels through Europe.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well I do feel I have lots to teach and share, however, in the confines of this small space, I'm not sure what to teach and I'm also not sure if I could do it justice. However, to those I do meet on couchsurfing, I can say with certainty that I have a knack for languages and I speak 6 and it would be a pleasure to teach you some language if you so desire. Furthermore, I'm always open to teaching and learning guitar - something that I obviously can't do by typing in this space. Finally, I'm a good cook and would be happy to teach cooking. And since I'm a yoga instructor I can teach you some yoga and can also give you tips on meditation and how to live an ayurvedic lifestyle. Furthermore, since I've travelled extensively, I'm always open to sharing my experiences and giving tips.
