About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To come up with a creative "current mission" statement for couchsurfing.com - as yet, not done.
ABOUT ME
Here goes - I used to be a teacher in Canada. Then I was a teacher in Switzerland. After that I grabbed my backpack and spent about 3 years traveling around the world. After meeting someone, falling in love, and running out of money (not necessarily related) I find myself now back in Canada, once again teaching.
I've lived and traveled in quite a few places, and have succeeded in humiliating myself, in some form or another, in nearly all of them.
I'm an avid photographer, read a lot, and enjoy nature, good food and travel. I've been told I can hold my end of a conversation (despite the lame effort I am displaying here), and enjoy a good laugh. I'm a laid back, easy going type of guy who finds, more often than not, the way to deal with the curveballs life can throw at you is to laugh at the absurdity of it all.
Why should you bother to get to know me? Well, I guarantee if you ever need a useless fact, or a story about why you shouldn't play poker while drinking a drugged coke with a overly friendly Thai gem dealer in Bali, then I'm your man.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Staying with local people in a destination gives you a different feel for a place - a chance to experience differently than the typical tourist experience. You also benefit from their expertise and knowledge to really learn and discover a place.
My Instagram page has a pretty decent selection of shots from my travels over the years, and from my home country of Canada. www.instagram.com/camerawanderlust
