About Me

CURRENT MISSION

In April, riding my bike from Santa Barbara CA to Albuquerque NM

Then taking a train to New York City for a bike ride to Seattle. The intention is to create awareness about food security and help end food deserts

ABOUT ME

PHILOSOPHY

If you are born a coyote, you are going to act like a coyote. Eat things that aren't yours, sleep in places you aren't allowed to go, be a part of things that you shouldn't be. But if you live knowing that you are as you are, there is no problem. Just an opportunity to change or not.

I live my life based on the only constant I can put into concept. Change. I have done so many things in my life that to say that I was the same as I was 4 months ago is a great overstatement. But in that, I can relax. And practice change in my everyday life. Then laugh.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I really help big time when the need for my help is presented. Service is my life. Just let me know.

City repair has become a big part of my life. Visit Cityrepair.org

I am also involved with food not bombs which is a group that gathers free food to be cooked in a community area to feed those who don't wish to spend money on food.

One of the other gifts I have is massage. I do practice massage as a means of income, but if I see someone who is in need of body work, I will generally do it for free if they don't have the funds for it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well, I've been couch surfing since I was 20. It's something that I love. It brings one into a an intimate environment with the people they are staying with. I feel that this level of interaction gives way for an automatic respect, depending on the people you are staying with.

One of my favorite experiences was in New Zealand. I stayed at a families home just south of Wellington. Although I only stayed one night, they offered me my own bedroom, which was much needed.

I hope to gather many more stories as I continue my travels

Interests

Movies. Really good ones. Great literature: Dharma Bums, To kill a Mockingbird, In Cold Bold. Other Voices Other Rooms, Dead-eye Dick, Othello, Howl. People Watching. I don't peeps through windows, just watch people do there everyday tasks. Music, mostly live music. Any is good for me, unless its really bad. Playing my bass, and writting for a long time. The outdoors, and being in situations where I have to meet people. Gets me out of my comfort zone, and exposes me to a different side of myself that normally hides away. My Family. I love them. I walked 100 miles over the course of 8 days through cities to the National rainbow gathering in Washington this year.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my GORP making abilities(inquire within). My love of life. I get really passionate when I get into talking about something. I can teach you how to surf. EVERYONE SHOULD SURF! No Excuses. Jesse Bilower does it, and he's quadropalegic. Writting. I love to write, and if you have trouble releasing a creative side of yourself, I want to help.
