About Me

Hello! My name is Travis DiPerna. I'm currently a photojournalist in the US Navy. I am also a student majoring in Philosophy at Arizona State University.

I love being outdoors, whether it is hiking, fishing, or camping.

Besides being outdoors, I am a huge board games nerd. Zombicyde is one of my favorites, even if it does take a few hours to complete.

I like to play and watch sports (American Football, tennis, golf, basketball, MMA/Boxing)

I am a huge bourbon fan. When I visited Kentucky, I did the Bourbon Trail, which is basically visiting every bourbon distilllery in the world (about 90% is made in KY)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing to meet interesting people. While in the Navy, I have learned that the best expeirences have nothing to do with the location you are visiting, rather the people you meet and the new cultures you expeirence.

Music, Movies, and Books

I know a lot of people say they love all music, but I truly do. I played bass in a band in my early twenties and it gave me an apprication for all things music. Some of my favorite bands/musicians are: Touche Amore, Eric Clapton, Post Malone, Tupac, Modern Baseball, System of a down, Joni Mitchell. As you can tell, it is a random array of artists. I also love podcasts! I listen to the Minimalists, Views and Joe Rogan weekly.

As far as TV, I have a top 5 that I constantly watch.
1. The Office
2. It's Always Sunny In Philidelphia
3. House
4. White Collar
5. Parks and Rec

I read a good bit, but I mainly stick to nonfiction. I love reading anything philosophy related. I think I am most interested by the different perspectives from people who are much smarter than me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hung out of a helicopter to get photos of a ship.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach photography and photoshop. I'm not too great on guitar, but I can teach you how to strum a few chords.

I would love to learn more about other cultures. I love learning the little idiosyncrasies that each country or city has.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am an amazing cook. I don't really have a specialty, but I can make something out of nothing.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Bahrain, Canada, Cyprus, England, Israel, Jordan, Oman, Spain, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Wales, Yemen

Countries I’ve Lived In
