Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking for adventure. I want to travel and meet new people. I want to experience the places I'm going to for what they truly have to offer, not as a tourist destination- a local guide would certainly help with that. I am a person of modest means, and this seems like a way to kill two birds with one stone- I can meet new people and travel cheaper. But mostly, I'm looking to have fun and enjoy life.

Musically, I like anything good: Social Distortion, Vigilantes of Love, Wooden Shjips... honestly, it's hard to make a list, because I like so much- punk, metal, bluegrass, jazz, jam music, psychedelic... As long as it isn't shitty, I'll listen to it.
Books: Discipline and Punish by Foucault; The Illuminatus Trilogy; Grapes of Wrath; Mostly non-fiction, but I have been reading more fiction lately. Cyberpunk.
Movies: The Big Lebowski (sorry)- really, anything by the Cohen brothers; Perfume; True Romance; Only Lovers Left Alive; anything quirky or weird.
