About Me

Hello! My name is Travis. I am a public defender in Weld County, based in Greeley, Colorado.

A little about me: I am close to Family and friends. I like a good laugh, good beer, and I believe in working hard and ultimately, first and foremost, abiding by a basic principle: pay kindness forward and treat others as you want to be treated. If you are lucky enough to be in good health, and have a social support structure, it is incumbent upon you to pay that forward. Period.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am Couchsurfing for both practical and philosophical reasons. The first obviously has to do with the fact that in terms of traveling, cheap hotels are becoming less and less an option should I travel somewhere.

The second reason has to do with the the fact that I am of the opinion we all need to help eachother more, that we are all in this together. If Couchsurfing was as normal as hotel-stays, and if there were small farms on every corner, and if we helped each other and sacrificed for the common good more often, the world would be a better place.

Coming from a person who believes that a person's word - what they say they will or will not do - is all a person really has in this world that is completely under that person's control, I can say with 100% confidence that if a host were to allow me to stay with them, I would strive to be the lowest-impact guest they have ever had!
