About Me

I’m a business owner based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I spent a stretch of my 20s and 30s travelling and living the nomad life, and while I’m settled back home now, I still get out on the road when I can for work and fun.

Throughout my 20s I dedicated a big part of my life to raising awareness about Parkinson’s disease after my dad was diagnosed in his 40s. That experience shaped a lot of who I am and taught me that the best connections happen when people are willing to be real with each other.

My friends would probably describe me as easy-going, adventurous, and always down to have a good time. I’m involved in the local entrepreneurship community and regularly organize and MC events, so if you’re visiting Saskatoon there’s a good chance I know what’s happening around town.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I loved meeting local people when I was travelling and learning about their communities, and now I want to return the favour. Saskatoon is an underrated city with a lot of character, and I enjoy showing visitors what makes it special. I’m also still open to surfing when I travel because some of my best travel memories came from staying with locals.

Interests

I’m into pretty much anything outdoors: golfing, biking, hiking, camping, snowboarding, kayaking, surfing. If I haven’t tried it, I’m willing to learn. Yoga, meditation, and healthy living have been a big part of my life for a long time, and I also facilitate breathwork sessions, which is a great way to connect with people on a deeper level.

Other interests include craft beer (yes, I contain multitudes), organizing events, exploring local food and drink scenes, and being part of a global community of entrepreneurs. I’m always curious about what people are building and working on.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all different kinds of music, but when I'm just chilling out, I enjoy indie, folk, 90's alternative and throw it back to the Beatles often. When it's time to dance, I enjoy letting loose to Electronic Dance Music (EDM).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent years organizing events and fundraisers to raise awareness for Parkinson’s disease. Not as wild as some stories on here, but it’s the thing I’m most proud of.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I enjoy cooking, so I’d be happy to make breakfast or dinner if you’re up for it. I’m also always down to share stories over a cold craft beer, a glass of wine, or whatever drink you prefer (including non-alcoholic). I know a thing or two about the Canadian prairies if you’re curious about this part of the world
