I'm a 26 year old studying for a PhD at the University of Oxford in 18th century history.

I'm a laid back guy, I'm fairly low maintenance and will happily wander off and explore by myself, but will never say no to company and a tour guide.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to see as much of the world as I can before I start working full time. My philosophy is you can either "see" a country or "experience" a country - you don't truly experience a place unless you spend time with locals.

I also often use couch surfing when I'm travelling for research as part of my doctorate.

I've hosted several couch surfers with my housemate over the years and had a great experience (people from Germany, Denmark, and all over the US).
