About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Taking some time to refocus

"I saw my life branching out before me like the green fig tree in the story. From the tip of every branch, like a fat purple fig, a wonderful future beckoned and winked. One fig was a husband and a happy home and children, and another fig was a famous poet and another fig was a brilliant professor, and another fig was Ee Gee, the amazing editor, and another fig was Europe and Africa and South America(...)” Sylvia Plath

ABOUT ME

I always consider myself an introvert because I love spending time by myself just reading or sketching in the street. But if you ask around, my friends will tell you the opposite, that I am open and easygoing, and I get along with everyone. I guess they have a point, because for the last year and a half, I have been working as a tour guide, and one of my favourite parts of the job, was to get to meet so many different people and try to connect with them. One of the reasons I decided to travel to México is because all the amazing people I meet from there.

I am pretty chill and happy to spend a lazy afternoon binge watching a show, but I also love being outdoors. I usually do hiking/biking routes. I am not very much into sports, but I love swimming and, lately, I have been passionate about free climbing. This year, I would like to learn to scuba dive.

To sum up, I am full of contradictions and perks, but if we meet you will see that I am not so bad after all.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like slow traveling. It doesn´t make sense for me to visit only the highlights of a place, I like to take time to enjoy it. And if it´s with a local who can point you the way, even better.

Interests

Art (love to go to museums and galleries. Also to search for street art in the city), Writing (trying to start to do it again), photography (getting use to digital after resisting to leave my analogic Minolta), nature (sea and mountains)

Music, Movies, and Books

I like classics. Hitchcock films. Spaguetti western. I'm in love with Jack Nicholson in Chinatown. I´d like to be Katherine Hepburn in any of her movies. Last movie I loved: Captain Fantastic.

As a child, my favorite was White Fang. Now, I can´t choose, I like from Saramago to Virginia Wolf. I usually borrow random books from booksharing space, because I like almost anything. Last book I loved: Just Kids, by Patty Smith.

I take advice in the music area beacose, to be honest, my taste is weard. One day I can listen to Avisha Cohen and the next to mainstream pop without regrets. Help!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I´ll never forguet when we climb mount Etna, in Sicily. The sight of the dark volcanic land with the snow was like a black and withe movie. So beautifull.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My knowledge of things might seem a bit random. I know how to make mead or tyle a bathroom. I can help if you have some proyects in your house like painting, restoring furniture, woodworking...Or just cooking a nice dinner (anything but paella, please don´t ask for paella)
