About Me

Hello! I'm currently an American Peace Corps volunteer in Armenia, where I will remain until June 2020.

Anyone who laughs is a friend.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In the United States, travel culture is much more restricted with a lack of trust in things like couchsurfing and hitchhiking, but I know that the traveling community on this side of the world is more trustworthy. With that, I'd like to take advantage of meeting new people and hearing their stories.

Interests

Learning about language and culture are easily some of my favorite hobbies, along with having quiet time with tea and a book. I also love spending time outdoors, whether it be hiking, fishing, or just hammocking under a tree.

  • reading
  • hiking
  • backpacking
  • learning languages
  • drinking tea
  • learning about different cultures

Music, Movies, and Books

I love folk, bluegrass, acoustic, jazz, just about whatever pleases my ear in whatever mood I'm in. Books.... yeah, there's no set genre. Just whatever jives with me. Above all, I enjoy reading about theology and the Bible.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spending time on the Appalachian Trail in USA has been a memorable experience. Also, hosting exchange students from many different countries has definitely given me a lens to the world. As far as my experience in Armenia goes, I've hiked the second highest mountain and was able to get this beautiful experience in doing so.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tell you about Armenian history, geography, politics, religion, or language, and on that note, I can translate Armenian for guests.

I would appreciate you sharing your experiences, stories, or if you're willing, food and culture.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I try to be as hospitable as possible and will usually look at making meals that respect the guests' dietary preferences. I can also share information on how to get to the local sites (Khachkars, Hayravank, Lake Sevan), as well as information that folks may be looking for on Armenia. During the winter time, this community is known for how cold it can be- fear not: I have heat.

Also, tea, coffee, beer, whisky, wine... I love to have conversations over these.

Countries I’ve Visited
