About Me

I'm Trevor, a fun loving, easy going student currently studying in Stellenbosch, a small historical town in the Western Cape of SA. I love serving the Lord in all I do and meeting interesting people from all over the world :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My experience with couch surfing has been a good bit longer than this profile suggests :) My dad, Andrew Dunn is an avid surfer in my home town of Port Elizabeth. I've been fortunate to meet and "co-host" a multitude of interesting people from countries such as Poland, Germany, Bolivia, Brazil and the UK just to name a few!

Having being raised to enjoy hosting company, and loving to entertain friends and family even as a student in Stellenbosch, I look forward to officially becoming a surfer myself :D

Interests

My interests vary greatly, from trail running in the Stellenbosch mountains to the current affairs circulating in Time magazine. I enjoy reading and of course anything Engineering and Tech related.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite music is summarised mainly by the phrase "something i can sing along to", I enjoy the folk/indie scene.

Definitely the no commercial stuff, enjoying the likes of Matt Kearney, Asgeir, All Sons and Daughters, Gold Panda, Xavier Rudd, Passenger, NeedToBreathe etc etc.

When i eventually get the chance to read a book that isn't the Lord's Word, its usually something I can think about and less of the fiction. Malcolm Gladwell's "Outliers" is such a favourite!

The movie scene is so vast. For me yet again, a recent interest was "Whiplash", something intriguing and with a true story potential. On the other side of the spectrum, I thoroughly enjoyed the "Furious 7". I would say this shows the variety in my interests. A movie to check out is "Short Term 12", and the movie i have been waiting at least 4 years for is George Miller's latest "Mad Max" :D

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done is freefall for 25 seconds after jumping out of a small plane 10 000ft up in the air over the picturesque town of Plettenberg Bay. Sky-diving, what a treat!

Teach, Learn, Share

I suppose teaching the odd bit of calculus isn't the most enticing thing i can share. I would like to do life with you, and show you around my little town of Stellenbosch.

I'm an avid wine connoisseur, so if Pinotage, Merlot and Cabernet Savignon sound more like Greek and less like French, I will gladly introduce you!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Currently as a student, I am unfortunately not able to host guests in my student accomodation. I will gladly recommend and advise on what to do when visiting Stellenbosch, and if my study schedule allows, look forward to joining on a hike or catching a local brew!

Countries I’ve Visited

Kenya, Mexico, United States
