I live alone with my dog, Layla, in Holmfirth , West Yorkshire. It’s a beautiful area on the edge of the Derbyshire Peak District, perfect walking country.
Holmfirth itself is a small town steeped in history.
I’m now a retired design and project manager, enjoying photography, writing, music and getting out and about.

As a kid I enjoyed touring, mainly hitch hiking and relied a lot on getting lifts from kind strangers.
The cost of travelling these days means it’s often too expensive so if I can help with this then I’m happy to do so.
I will warn you that I tend to be an early to bed, early to rise kinda person so if you’re looking for someone to chat to late at night then we’re not really suited.

I love all kinds of music (The best gig I ever went to was the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, in Sheffield) . I’m not a big movie watcher or reader although I did enjoy Tom Sharpe and the odd sporting autobiography .
