About Me

Hey all,
I just graduated from the University of Minnesota in December 2015 with a BS in mechanical engineering and have been traveling since. I spent January, February and March this year in both Chilean and Argentine Patagonia. Most of my time down there was camping, hitch hiking, climbing things that weren't supposed to be climbed and trying to learn Spanish. After cold mornings and fall feelings started pushing me north, out of Patagonia, I spent the following two weeks in April hitching and traveling north towards Peru. I made a few unexpected surf stops along the way, then met with some buddies to spend the last four weeks of our South American trip in Peru. Peru was incredible but I inevitably had to catch my return flight home in the middle of May.

Now I am (temporarily) back at my stomping grounds in the suburbs of MN. I'm soon headed to Switzerland to work in the mountains for the summer, but I have one roadblock. In order for me to work in Switzerland, I have to visit the American-Swiss consulate in NYC. This means I'm going to be in NYC this week (May 24-26), and I have planned a little extra time to see some sights and hopefully meet some people.

Also, I just caught wind of this here couch-surf technology in South America and I'm super intrigued. I haven't used it yet, but would be pumped to make something work, and hopefully in the future if I ever stop traveling I'l host some people as well!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To get in touch with locals as I travel the globe! I'm brand new and unfortunately didn't make it work in South America, but I'm ready to give couchsurf USA and Europe a go!

I'd also be thrilled to someone cool in NYC that can hopefully show me the ropes! I'm sure there's 100 things to do that I won't be able to see, but maybe if you've got a favorite that'd be better than doing the standard-touristy thing!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is an integral part of my life. Alt rock, alternative, electronic of all sorts, reggae, acoustic jams, classic rock.
Movies? Documentaries are a top hit. Books.. Wish I had more attention to read more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climb a 6000m volcano in Peru.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach? This crazy hot dog costume often follows me and reveals itself at arbitrary instances in my travels. You can't teach that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Everything they ever wanted to know about the outdoors, climbing, mountains, South American culture, return favors when they wanna visit MN! Which is actually super beautiful (in the summer months) because of our lakes and forests.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Canada, Chile, Germany, Peru, Switzerland
