About Me

I am a nomadic cheesemaker who is traveling while researching traditional dairying, pasture management, and Cheesemaking while volunteering. I am passionate about food, and explore culture mainly through seeking out and sampling local cuisines, fermented bevarages, and farmed foods. I read and write a lot, love to go on long hikes, explore regional architecture and historical sites. I love to travel and explore but am doing so with a sense of purpose and a mission. To observe endangered food production methods before they disappear forever. To see older ways of humans and livestock interacting with ecosystems in mutually beneficial ways.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am seeking to experience the places in which I travel by meeting local people and seeing how they work, live and relax. I generally do work trades through workaway while I travel and in between these I would like to stay with couchsurfing hosts in various cities and regions I am interested in. I find the best way to really see an area is to meet local people and follow their advice on what to see and where to eat and drink.
