About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I suppose my current mission is to break out of my current routines and live a life of adventure for a while. Not that anyone should ever settle for any less. I need to get out of my hometown for a little while...

ABOUT ME

I'm not really in the proper mental state to write a bio right now, so for the moment, you should know that I'm just a human, enjoying this journey. I hope to contribute to the enjoyment of others' journeys as well.

PHILOSOPHY

Hmm. I'm in the midst of some soul searching right now. Check back later.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I signed up here to see if I could find some warm places to sleep on an upcoming trip to Minneapolis, Minnesota, and a few others places. I'm also interested in hosting if anyone needs a place in Corvallis. We have perhaps low-ish standards regarding tidiness at our house, but it's very homey! We also have a dog and a cat, who are very nice.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, no experiences, as I just signed up! That said, I have had a number of fantastic "couch surfing" (unofficial, not associated with this site) experiences, both hosting and surfing. My house has had a pretty open door policy in the past, and I don't see any reason for that to change. Couch surfing and hitchhiking are two things that I believe have a karmic element to them. As you give, so shall you receive. May we all be givers.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Led Zeppelin, Phish, Ween, Pink Floyd, Laura Veirs, various folk and bluegrass, various classical, various metal,

Books: "Genesis" - Bernard Beckett
"The Name of the Wind" - Patrick Rothfuss
"Indigo Springs" A.M. Dellamonica
Largely scifi and that sort of thing, though I don't honestly read as much as I used to. Someday I'll get back into it!

Movies:
Oh Brother, Where Art Thou
The Fifth Element
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach bicycle repair and maintenance, though I'm not especially well equipped as far as tools and workstands go.Also, basic canoe paddling and basic vegetarian cooking without relying on meat substitutes or processed soy. I also can give pretty good bicycle tours of Corvallis and the surrounding area. Also, let me know and we'll take the canoe out! It's one of my favorite things to do of all time, and the put-in at the river is less than a five-minute bike ride.
