About Me

****** YES i do have recent negative reviews unfortunately. I ended up needing emergency medical care and unfortunately was not able to reach out to those i was supposed to host :( I am in good health now and am hosting again though!
CURRENT MISSION

To see as many places, meet as many people, and have as much fun as I can

ABOUT ME

First off. I have a 25% response rate because this site is hooked up to a really old email and won't let me change my email address. So! If you're trying to get a hold of me, find me on facebook (trevor trevski church) or email me at tchurch@pdx.edu and you'll get a response that day. If you just send the couch request, I'll get it, but it'll take me a few days and maybe be too late :-/ but if it's far enough out, no worries.

Im gay. I feel like saying that right away because a host had a problem with it once haha. So Im just upfront about that now. I'm 23, a med student on my way to becoming a doctor, and plan on seeing as much of the world as possible and meeting as many people as I can! I absolutely love music and literature. I'll listen to anything, and read anything. I love culture and love submerging myself in other peoples lifestyles. I'm a firm believer that we can all learn something from each other.

People go into medicine for one of two years, the first is money and the second is compassion and wanting to make a difference - I have plans of moving to a third world country after med school to combat infectious disease that plague certain regions... So basically, money is the furthest thing on my mind. I feel like the route I'm taking in medicine is the easiest way to sum up my character as a whole for those of you that don't know me.

PHILOSOPHY

I've always been a free spirit and accepting of everyone and anyone. Good taste in music, good taste in books, even a good laugh and I'll enjoy your company a lot. I believe in honesty, acceptance, and always having fun.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I have money, I pick up and go. I am trying to experience as many places around this planet as possible! If you need a place to crash, message me and we will see if I can work something out!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had a lot of great ones! That's why I'm still doing it! I've made some really cool friends and connections through this website, and the mi casa su casa mentality is totally karmic, by that I mean that I've never had trouble finding a couch to crash on while traveling.

Interests

Medicine! I have long hair, tattoos, piercings, and play a lot of punk rock, but western medicine is my thing. I'm really passionate about microbiology. I know, I don't fit the mold. You should come to class with me and see me amongst my peers haha! Reading, music, painting, learning, new friends, drum circles, dancing, colorful people!

Oh I've been asked before why I put "'at risk' youth" for my occupation in quotations. I do this because the youth I work with is dubbed "at risk" by society and the organizations I've worked with, but in reality I always use quotations with the term at risk, because this world is a rough place, and I think all kids are at risk in our society for possibly having some truly traumatic life experiences. With that said. I work a lot with teens in the area, and a lot with the homeless population in Portland (it's depressingly high), so if I show you around you might notice getting a few hellos from a pretty eclectic group of people.

Oh I play mountain dulcimer! I love making music with others! Your instruments are always welcome!

I also love kids, so if you're traveling with your little one, totally cool. Most of my neighbors who are all good friends, have kids between 2 and 5, so there's usually one or two kids poking their head in.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked to the start of the rogue river and it was possibly the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. To see a river that stretches 215 miles coming from a spring in the ground is astonishing.
