About Me

CURRENT MISSION

While traveling, discover as much about myself as I do about the world.

ABOUT ME

Happy. Realistic. Thoughtful. Social. Open. Curious.

PHILOSOPHY

My biggest fear is one day waking up and realizing I wasted my time here on earth. Ever since this fear set in, I've tried to narrow down what, exactly, is important to me. Here are a few of the big ones:

Aligning my behavior with my principles.
Laughing.
Sharing meals with others.
Pausing to think.
Learning more about the way the world works.
Embracing what is.
Suspending judgement.
Caring for my surroundings: people, animals, plants, home.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As a surfer. As soon as I find a place to settle down in this world, even if it's only for a short while, my doors will be open, and my couch will have a fresh pillow on it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

During the time that I lived in San Francisco (3 years) I always had friends who were hosting couchsurfers, and met many travelers this way. I always loved the exchange that took place when a new surfer would show up! Getting to know people and their journeys has always been a joy to participate in.

Interests

Interests: figuring out how things work, the physical world, sustainable food production, cooking, fermentation. The nature of the human experience.
My favorite topic of conversation: the things that make life worth living. The answers I get from others always vary, and I learn more about my own life each time I receive an honest one.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Angel Falls, Venezuela. Went 6 years ago and the thought of it still gives me chills. It was absolutely incredible.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you:
-How to ferment vegetables. (Kimchi and sauerkraut are my specialty!)
-About coffee. (worked full time at an independent coffee shop in San Francisco for over 1.5 years)
-How to repair your bicycle. (flat tires, brake issues, shifter problems, etc.)
-How to clean up/organize the files on your computer.
-How to swim. (I used to teach swimming lessons and was a lifeguard at the State Beaches in California)
-About hiking and backpacking in the great outdoors.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Italy, New Zealand, Venezuela

Countries I’ve Lived In
