I like to see the world through different eyes than just my own, and when an opportunity presents itself to share knowledge, build culture and strengthen the global community of compassion, I step up to the role I sense I'm best suited for. I have hopes the world will evolve towards a more compassionate outlook, become more sustainable for not just the present few generations but for eons after.

I've had a Couch Surfing profile since 2007 and the new site doesn't show the states I've visited, just country, but those were valid and amazing adventures that helped shape my perspective and are integral to how I identify with Couch Surfing's values.

I'm keeping the sections that used to be part of the original CS profiles below because they were valuable intrinsically to seeing how others thought I stayed with, met up with and well, perhaps I'm just nostalgic.

PHILOSOPHY

The purpose of life is to make life better.

I also like those moments that seem to last forever when you suddenly see reality for the first time....the same objects almost glow because being here suddenly becomes a conscious act instead of a side effect of living. All is beautiful if your eyes are open and seeing the hidden life behind everything.

Watching a sunset off a cliff overlooking a valley on the edge of Austin
Volunteering at a bikeshop, then riding my bicycle home, only to hear a hundred Indians chanting Indian hymns somewhere. I followed the sound and found a hundred Indians holding a ceremony in the parkinglot behind a bookstore...it was incredible.
