About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Seeing as much of the world as possible

ABOUT ME

I've spent the past years preparing for entry into medical school. Now that I've been accepted, I've taken time off to travel as far and wide as I can.

When I travel, I place the utmost importance in experiencing the city/site fully. This means embracing the host culture and attempting to recognize its unique position in the world. If I'm lucky, I recognize something worth adopting into my own outlook. I almost always am able to learn something new from each place I go to, and I intend on maintaining that philosophy of travel throughout my life.

So, please host me, and--when I am able to host--please, stay with me!

PHILOSOPHY

To know, to connect, and to enjoy all that is offered through humanity's varied cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I try and better the couchsurfing community through an earnest effort to connect with a host culture. I think sharing of knowledge in all forms is necessary to better not only this single community but all those of the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Alex in Vancouver, BC and Colin in Victoria, BC are my only official couchsurfing experiences, but during my United States bike tour in summer of 2009 I was hosted by a series of people in Dumas, TX, Colorado Springs, CO, Spokane, WA, Seattle, WA, and Anacortes, WA through another CSing-like website for touring cyclists.

Interests

Drumming, music, running, swimming, biking, hiking, indoor mountainclimbing, reading, almost every sport, experiencing as many cultures as possible through food, language, and traditions.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I completed a bicycle tour across the United States in the summer of 2009 from May 27th-August 21st.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am an avid drummer and willing to give lessons to anyone who is willing to learn with enthusiasm. I also cook often and am always delighted to have someone join me in the kitchen and/or talk about food. I love to run, bike, and hike and am more than happy to participate with others who have the same passions. I want to learn language as well as the idiosyncrasies of every culture I encounter.

Countries I’ve Visited
