About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel everywhere!

ABOUT ME

I was raised in the little farming community of Barker, NY till I was about 18 or so. While there I did not focus on studies, but instead focused on my high school sports which consisted of cross country, swimming, and track.

After graduating I wasn't sure what to do, so I went to college for mechanical engineering. I fell in love with the major, but was not a big fan of the college I was at. I wanted to move out west so I decided to graduate a year early and get a job somewhere out west.

This ended up being an engineering position in Grand Junction, Colorado. Grand Junction was a pretty good time. It was well here that I really got into mountain biking, hiking, and off-roading. When the economy slowed down though, I found myself without a job.

I didn't want to move back to NY, because it was still during the height of a really great ski season. I decided to couch surf/look for jobs in the mountains of Colorado. It didn't take long before I had a job offer to teach kids ages 3-6 how to ski. This is probably the most fun job I have ever had in my life.

Right now I am still deciding where I want to get my next big boy job. But before I decide I would like to see more of the country!

PHILOSOPHY

I want to cross the finish line battered and beat up

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am hoping to meet some people who are up for hosting right now. Once I get settled somewhere I would like to host as well. I really like meeting new people, exchanging stories, and being shown around, or showing people around a new area.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not extensively used this website yet (as of 9-22-09), but I have couch surfed, and hosted couch surfers in the past. It is usually pretty fun, and a great way to meet people!
