I've lived in various countries and now I'm based in Singapore! A budding artist and part-time teacher interested in a variety of aesthetics, ways of seeing, approaches to living and tastes, and sharing this with everyone.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

A friend introduced this website as a way of getting to know people and their lives overseas.

I wasn't the travel fanatic, but I met wonderful couch surfers and hosts through friends whilst traveling overseas and it inspired me to join. Meeting good people who are willing to share stories and their homes around the world is fun, eyeopening and a redeeming experience.

Música, películas y libros

Jazz, folk, alternative... anything good really! Love both arthouse films and good hollywood films for relaxing. Books... well I've been looking at more non-fiction books on art and photography of the late. My recent trip to Italy has inspired me to pick up a book by Italo Calvino.

I spent 2.5 weeks on Male, the capital of the Maldives amongst the locals and island hopped whilst discussing the difficulties faced by the people there. Our conversations led to possibilities in building a sustainable garden and ceramics studio there. Politics within their island-state is heated, islands rise and fall below the sea level, and battle with the ever-growing amount of trash produced by the city and resorts. The locals compete with new immigrants from Sri Lanka... similar issues face Singaporeans. It was such a non-touristy but enriching experience of the Maldives!

I would love to take you around Singapore, should you come by. Its safe and easy to navigate there so the touristy sites you could probably handle, but I'll bring you to local places with interesting cultural significance or go eat simple hearty food from all the different nationalities that thrive in Singapore.
