About Me

I can't keep still. I currently live in Cebu, Philippines but I made my way here via Guam, Washington DC, and Honolulu, HI.

I'm an accountant by training...but, I've been told I don't necessarily fit the stereotype. I'm definitely a bean-counter - I love my spreadsheets. But, I'm also quite the extrovert and love meeting new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been doing the couchsurfing thing for a while now really - connecting with different travelers in my various hometowns, growing friendships, and visiting them as opportunity arises - so it makes sense that I jump online and do it from here!

Interests

I've got ADHD so it seems that the next, new shiny thing will always grab my attention. I think mostly my interests revolve around helping people and socializing...

This is where my interests spill into my work some because I love helping my artistic-type friends get organized. My latest interest is seeing my friends launch their entrepreneurial ventures and I'm assisting a few friends seeing their ideas come to life. At the moment, I've got about 5 of these types of projects...

I'm also trying to get more active and one way I've combined my love for travel with that is destination racing. I signed up for a 21km last year in Angkor Wat based on that. I'm still determining my 2015 travel schedule, but I'm thinking at least two new countries and likely more in-country travel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One thing I'm proud of is my participation in relief efforts following typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines in November 2013. With the help of my friends and social media, we raised approximately US $18k that went to emergency food/water relief goods and some weeks later, building materials, that we deployed to different areas. There's still some funding leftover that I will be directing towards some sort of educational projects (still in the works!) particularly for Bantayan Island, which is where my family is from...
