About Me

This past couple of years I've found myself traveling more often and ever since this year I've gone on one out of state trip a month. I have just finished serving with AmeriCorps (think PeaceCorps but in America) for two years, and that has been a very interesting and world widening experience. From this I have embraced and open mind and an open heart, wanting to learn whatever I can and from whoever I meet! I love to engage with people on the world's interesting destinations and learn much about the little known facts about travel destinations.
I was born in the Philippines but lived most of my life in Los Angeles, so yeah I've had multiple celebrity encounters and always have a funny story to tell about a couple of them. Think Miguel at the Billboard Music awards, yeah I was there.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am currently transitioning from the Bay Area to SoCal so I find myself with free time and more opportunities to connect with like minded people. As soon as I have a more permanent housing situation I am very much looking forward to hosting! Before going on this website I have hosted my friends from all over: Spain, Arizona, Philippines and even my friends from SoCal. So I am not a stranger to allowing my friends and now future friends to surf with me.

Music, Movies, and Books

The music I listen to are usually depending on my mood. Currently listening to Adele's 25. I enjoy the typical top 40 hits on the radio as well as anything that my passengers like to play on my aux cord. Trap house jazz band has been my go to while studying and being productive. I also enjoy listening to cultural music, I've danced Filipino traditional dances for 6 years.

My favorite movie is UP, I enjoy the simplicity of the animation with the depth of the plot and characters. Spirited Away, Pan's Labyrinth, and documentaries.
I also enjoy any shows and movies that Amy Phoeler is in.
GOT, American Horror Story, Parks and Rec, OITNB, Sherlock, Black Mirror, Reign, and many more.

I enjoy reading Kurt Vonnegut's work. Wild by Cheryl Strayed, has actually inspired me to take up backpacking, the soonest my ankle heals and gets stronger, I want to hike the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When in London for New Years, I booked a one way ticket to Paris and ended up in Amsterdam.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach various Filipino traditional dances and dishes. I can also cook some simple vegan or whole 30 or clean eating recipes.
I love to share the reflections and thoughts that I observe when people watching. And sharing the reasons why people choose to do things and why they feel certain ways. Life philosophies, religious exchanges, spiritual centering.
