Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Always positive. There have been a couple of people here and I stayed by some. I really like the idea of this network. It has always been a blast to either be invited into someone's home or to have someone new and foreign couchsurfing and discovering your immediate surrounding with a sense of openness and curiosity. When I'm couchsurfing I can have a completely different approach to the place I'm visiting, shaped by the person who is hosting me. And vice versa, when I'm hosting, the couchsurfing guest adds a new perspective to and on my most daily routines.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One time I was standing on top of a ridge not far from Mt. Cook on the south island of New Zealand; I was there all by myself, had been hiking up through the snow half a day, the sun was beginning to set, the shadows grew tall and the air was crystal clear, no sound disturbing the setting -- when suddenly this thunderlike rumble started. My bones chilled as I witnessed a huge avalanche starting from the opposite mountain top, rushing in a white cloud to the bottom end of the glacier.
