About Me

Hello everyone! :)

I’m Tanja, Russian by nationality and Danish at heart. A little bit of a linguist, translator, teacher and photographer all in one trying to find my own place in this big, big world. Ridiculously charming and charmingly ridiculous, open-minded and curious. Crazy about travelling, art and meeting new people and cultures, enthusiastic about ideas and projects that might seem irrational.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love Couchsurfing for the unique chance to feel like a citizen of the world, to get closer to the culture you experience in a new country and to the people you meet there. I've tried Couchsurfing in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Ireland and this resulted in meeting amazing people all of whom managed to open a new world to me in just a couple of days. This is just fantastic!

Interests

Two things that make me the happiest person in the world is speaking Danish and taking pictures. I like wandering around the city in search of the colour or the game of light and shadows and I’m forever in love with Denmark and its language. I love getting lost in bookshops and coffee houses and practise my barista skills at home. And I’m a travel addict ‘cause to travel is to live.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a universal book lover and a strong supporter of bookcrossing. I believe that it's the books that choose their owners, you just need to stay open. But most of my books I have at home are books about places and travelling. And they're surreal and crazy in a good way, like The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

This seems to be part of my personal philosophy as the same goes for my music preferences. And I'm all up for music with an ethnic touch. Or probably this is just another form of travelling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've started learning Danish. :)

I once managed to cross the borders of 4 countries in one day.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to find happiness in simple pleasures, how to always look at the bright side of life and how to see the beauty in ordinary things.

I'm an expert in making dressed herring (national Russian dish) and I'm Moscow's unofficial hygge ambassador. :)
