About Me

Update: I can host GIRLS ONLY during weekends now because I am working away from home. I am sorry for the inconvenience :(

My name is Thom, together with middle name "Hoa" it means "fragrant flower" in Vietnamese. I'm really appreciated and happy if you could write my name correctly in your request/offer :)
I'm interested in discovering foreign countries and the variety of cultures around the world, which is motivation for TRAVELING and INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEER, which are my two biggest hobbies. I often invite my friends to visit my hometown and stay at my house when they have chance to travel to Vietnam. Therefore though I do not have many references but I am experienced on hosting people.
I'm studying in Japan but I will be at home during spring (Feb and March) and summer (Aug and Sep) so if you want to be hosted, please come to my hometown this time :) Otherwise, if you visit Beppu, Japan when I am there, I can help to show you around and even host you if possible :x

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me the most important purpose of a trip is NOT to visit famous places but to MEET local people and LEARN their culture and custom and observe their daily life :D I really love listening to people's stories and their knowledge about their homeland. For sure that nobody can know about the place more than local residents, so by staying with hosts I expect to discover the places better :) In addtion, I want to make friends from all over the world and help people to discover my hometown effectively, cheaply and comfortably! I love discovering other culture through their stories and their trips, which inspire me a lot! By getting to know lots of people, my vision will be widened in a positive way :D

Interests

I am overexcited on discovering new places and learning new languages, that's why I chose my major at University as Culture and Society.
I am currently a leader of a Volunteer Circle in my University, I love volunteering and helping other people, especially children.
When I have free time I always read books or cook something ^^ They are helping me feel relaxed after stressful work and study.
I am especially love Japanese culture and cuisine, therefore I chose to study abroad in Japan.
