About Me

CURRENT MISSION

collecting moments under the sun

ABOUT ME

I think I am a fun, friendly person! I'm not very much into night club partying; I'd rather just have some nice drinks at a restaurant or cool bar, or at home with a film and popcorn :) I love to travel and meet people. I'm an outgoing introvert (it's a real thing, look it up). I'm interested in learning about other cultures and experiencing new places. I love photography. Always looking for adventure. Always taking too many pictures. Sometimes sarcastic. Often quoting movies.

I was born in California, raised in Texas, went to university in Alabama, and moved back to Austin after a year of living in Switzerland. It's a good life!

I'm a pretty independent and low-maintenance person. When I visit someplace new I usually just spend hours wandering the city and taking pictures, and that's what I love to do! If you host me, I'd love to hang out with your friends and experience your city as you like to. That's usually my favorite part.

PHILOSOPHY

Live in love! Choose happiness over sadness. Experience every good thing. Appreciate beauty that doesn't ask to be noticed. Be kinder than necessary. Love God and people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Most of my experiences with Couchsurfing have been very positive. I've surfed and met with a lot of great people! However, I've also seen the flip-side, in which a person with only positive reviews from hosts and surfers, can turn out to be a very cruel and verbally abusive individual.

My advice: please be kind, fellow CSers. There is no reason to go out of your way to hurl insults at someone you've never met, just because you are creepy and they didn't want to stay with you. Don't be creepy.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I LOVE movies. Not scary movies though. And I usually prefer comedies to dramas, just because I like laughing better than crying.

Books: Pride & Prejudice, Sherlock Holmes, Hunger Games, Divergent series, etc. I'm a big fan of Oscar Wilde, Jane Austin, C.S. Lewis, and Henry David Thoreau.

Music: Singer/songwriter stuff mostly. Folk. Americana. Some pop. James Bay, Judah & the Lion, Ben Howard, Ed Sheeran, George Ezra, The Goo Goo Dolls, Mumford & Sons, Needtobreathe, Sam Kelly, The Lumineers, etc. And don't judge me, but I actually just discovered that I love 5 Seconds of Summer. They're surprisingly great.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't necessarily have any special skills, I don't think, but I'm a pretty good listener. I'm apparently good at arts and crafts. Also, I've been told by several Swiss boys that I bake THE BEST cookies. So there's that.
