About Me

CURRENT MISSION

settle in Paris again after two years European Tour

ABOUT ME

Love food wine and travel, mostly in Europe so far. Just back from a two year tour of cycling in Spain,Italy,France,Sweden and Norway.

I think I can be a good guide to Paris, especially for my neighbourhood in the nineteenth.

PHILOSOPHY

The donkey was telling me it's all about the unbearable lightness of braying.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm sharing my flat now, so I can't easily host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

stayed with Carmen in Zaragoza, very nice person living in a central flat
then stayed with a lady who I think was called Isabella in Calatayud, really friendly, probably my best couchsurf
Stayed with a girl in Ciudad Real. She had won a young writer's prize - also a good experience, more typically spanish, going out and eating tapas each night.
Stayed with Victoria in Piteä Sweden. Good fun and a bit mad.
If you don't find any of these people on here, they are on Hospitality Club. The lady in Calatayud is a member of the Servas network.
otherwise, I can't say it's easy to find people to stay with on Couchsurfing

Interests

just back from Norway I like Brunost in pancakes ! - i like weekend trips in France to Normandy, Provence or just about anywhere, usually cycling

Music, Movies, and Books

hamlet (Lawrence Olivier) Mad Professor, Michel Onfray, Epicure, Brillat Savarin, Victor Hugo, Tolstoy, Michel Ragon
Films ? Not much time in the last years.Like them less and less, went to see The Last Station. My absolute favourite is Respiro. On a more Northern and ecological theme, I liked the eighties or was it seventies film The Year of the Hare based on the novel by a Finnish writer.
I liked In the Name of the Father for the political tension and the sense of the fight against injustice.
The old Woody Allen films, Hannah and her Sisters ?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Riding Touristic Road 17 down through the fjords.
Looking over the sea towards the Alpes Maritimes as Alessandro the yogi lit a red flamed fire at the chapel in the hills above the Cinque Terre

Teach, Learn, Share

Guide round Paris, particularly Right Bank Montmartre or the nineteenth arrondissment with Parc des Buttes Chaumont.
