About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To be the best possible couchsurfer on the planet, and possibly beyond.
ABOUT ME
I've never been fond of describing myself - it's a very tricky process, and often times I don't do it to well, but here goes. My name is Titus, I've lived in Singapore all my life. I've travelled a fair bit, and after going to college in Berkeley, California, I am now back in Singapore.
Traveling is desperately important to me because I've realized that it's a big world out there, and often frightening, but better to go out and be frightened and learn than to stay at home and wish you'd been a little braver.
I served two years in the Singapore army, and came out a wiser, older and perhaps more mature person.
Worked for 6 months in a kindergarten, and it is by far, hands-down, the best job on earth. Nothing beats hanging out with children. You feel so young and alive again, like nothing can ever get you down.
I spent 3 years studying in Berkeley, California. It's a wonderful place and I love how international it is, you get to meet people from all places and of all races.
I work in a research lab that focuses on developmental psychology. It's been one of the best decisions of my life.
Currently working in Singapore as a preschool teacher.
My favourite thing to do in the world is to find a common ground between people; a lot of times, it's Youtube videos.
PHILOSOPHY
I don't talk much about this, but one thing I can say is that no matter what happens, I'm always assured of the fact that God is a great river, flowing underneath everything that happens in my life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now my living situation doesn't allow for couchsurfing unfortunately, but I am always free to take fellow travelers around for a tour of the city of Singapore and to introduce them to all the greatest spots in the city:)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Staying with a couchsurfer in France, stayed with a couple of wonderful students in Uppsala, hosted multiple times (in Singapore, California and Uppsala) - always a pleasant experience.

Music, Movies, and Books
Love Disney movies. Loved "The Prestige" . Loved Miyazaki's "Spirited Away". Other than that I don't watch movies too often. I listen to pretty much anything - Beatles, U2, Paolo Nutini, Elvis Presley, The Temptations, Guggenheim Grotto, The Weepies, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Sammy Davis Jr., Lisa Hannigan, Eva Dahlgren, Movits, Den Svenska Björnstämmen, Melissa Hörn, Bo Kaspers Orkester, Elbow, John Butler Trio, Coldplay, Nina Simone, Feist, Fiona Apple...I could go on forever. I'm not even going to start on books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have lived for nine days in the jungles of Brunei - did this for a confidence badge while I was in the army. Served 2 years, which is mandatory for every Singaporean male.
Teach, Learn, Share
TEACH: I could teach you the guitar, or the ukulele. I could teach you to snowboard. I could teach you to eat an entire apple right through the core. I could teach you basic self defense. I could teach you to fold a shirt in less than 5 seconds. There's a couple of other things.
LEARN: Anything and everything. Most of all, I want to learn what makes people do the things they do.
SHARE: the secret to living is to find something you believe in, and let everything in your life line up with that. Realize that not everything and everyone in the world is worth your time and energy. Ask yourself difficult questions. Don't worry if you don't have all the answers. Believe in something, beyond reasoning. Reason alone is not enough to fully know what life is. Faith is a beautiful, profound, inexplicably mysterious thing.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A caring heart, a listening ear, an alternative point of view.
More practically, I can also share my kitchening skills. I've spent my fair share of time in the humble home kitchen.
